Rough Seas on the Rhinns
I always love the colour of the water around the western side of the Rhins Of Galloway. Here we have lovely rough seas at Port Logan also the film location for the BBC tv series 2000 Acres of Sky.
Dunskey Castle Portpatrick
Another trip to Dunskey Castle, down on the Rhins of Galloway. This time looking for a different perspective, trying to find the perfect composition. This did look promising, but I think it could look much better if the swell and waves were bigger. As always, the colour of the sea there was lovely.

Dunskey Castle always looks good whatever time of day you are there, I never manage to get there for golden hour for some reason. Dunskey sits high on the cliffs, a short walk from Portpatrick on the Rhins of Galloway.

The Gairland Burn Loch Trool
In Galloway once more, this time to photograph the Gairland Burn at Loch Trool. There are a myriad of compositions all along this burn, which I still have to explore fully. The burn rises high into the hills above Loch Trool to its source (i assume) Loch Valley and flows into Loch Trool near Glenhead.

Gairland Burn in spate through the old oak forest Loch Trool
The Gairland Burn on the final stretch to Loch Trool. This part of the burn is just at the other side of the wooden bridge in the old oak woods at Glenhead. If you are doing the roughly five mile circular walk for Loch Trool you will pass this spot. You do not have to do the whole walk to get here, you can assess from the end car park next to Bruce's Stone. Although just about a mile from the car park, there are a couple of hills that can leave you huffing and puffing.
